As well as our training workshops, we provide consultancy, coaching, secondments and supervision to individuals, organisations and local partnerships.

We approach this consultancy as equal partners working together on a joint journey of learning and delivering. As such, we position our skills, expertise and experience alongside yours and ask for your help to identify and build upon your strengths.

Through consultancy, we enable the content of our workshops to come to life by supporting you with the challenges and opportunities that can arise, such as:

  • Positive risk management
  • Reviewing policies (e.g. safeguarding, lone working, responding to challenging behaviour, etc.)
  • Setting up multi-stakeholder partnerships
  • Employing excluded people
  • Recruiting staff

The following case study describes how we use these services to provide maximum value to an organisation and look for every opportunity to support them and their partners in a way that is flexible and responsive to their needs and local context:

We recently supported Mind in the City, Hackney and Waltham Forest, an organisation who aim to empower people with experience of mental ill health, through the delivery of innovative, collaborative services, developing wellbeingresilience and recovery in the City of London, Hackney and Waltham Forest.

We first worked with staff from Mind in Hackney as part of a delivery of theory- and skills-based workshops to London Youth's Talent Match London partnership. This delivery supported them to understand the theory and philosophy behind INTEGRATE and ‘Streetherapy’ as a way for staff in any role to apply some basic therapeutic techniques to the ways in which they engage with young people, and work as a team to support them to pursue their goals.

During the follow-up from this delivery, we met with staff from the wider partnership to collect feedback for our learning report and to explore next steps. Staff at Mind in Hackney felt that we could support their organisation and their partners at Mind (National) and the London Borough of Hackney during the design phase of a new service for excluded young people in the boroughs they serve.

After the initial meetings, we co-ordinated with our sister charity MAC-UK who seconded staff with experience of working in an INTEGRATE project to Mind in Hackney to support them in the start-up phase of the new service. This support involved working alongside Mind in Hackney staff to identify key local relationships, supporting staff to use their skills and experience to develop these relationships, and joining them to conduct outreach in the community to ask local excluded young people for their help to explore what they would like to gain from and contribute to the new service.
